Shadowed by the grandeur of Jupiter (@nasajuno), two of the planet’s largest moons – Io and Europa – are seen here in this image captured by our Juno spacecraft on Sept. 1. At the time the image was taken, the spacecraft was about 17,098 miles from the cloud tops of the planet. Closer to the planet, the Galilean moon of Io can be seen. In the distance (to the left), another on of Jupiter’s Galilean moons, Europa, is visible.
